Michael Walters is President of the company with 14 full time employees and 30 contract logging crews.

Claybourn Walters, along with his father Lenough Walters,  founded the company in 1950 as a forest product brokerage and harvesting operation contracting services to both industrial and non-industrial landowners.  His reputation for honest and quality business grew the company from one gray mule to some 20 employees during the company's first 30 years.  Michael Walters now provides overall leadership and insight to the company.  David Hendrix and Danny Morgan manage the daily operations.

Michael Walters joined the company in 1978 after graduating from North Carolina State University with degrees in education and business administration.  Michael is currently serving as State Senator for the 13th Senatorial District of North Carolina representing Robeson and Hoke Counties.  He also serves on the Executive Board of Directors for BB&T Bank and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Forestry Mutual Insurance Company, specializing in improving Workers Compensation Insurance coverage to enhance workplace safety in the forest industry.  Michael, a Licensed Real Estate Broker, has 30 years of land brokerage experience in North and South Carolina.  His area of expertise is forestland.  An astute businessman, Michael is very experienced in forest product and land brokerage as well as harvesting of forest products.
